        "content": "<p>Ambon (ANTARA) - The TNI has sent additional personnel to assist in\nthe search and evacuation process for victims of the Mount Dukono\neruption in North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province, which\ncontinues amidst volcanic activity and challenging terrain.<\/p>\n<p>Pangdam XV\/Pattimura Major General TNI Doddy Triwinarto in Ternate on\nSunday stated that the deployment of personnel follows orders from the\nArmy Chief of Staff (Kasad) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak to strengthen\nhumanitarian operations at the disaster site.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKasad has instructed us to mobilise all potential units under Kodam\nXV\/Pattimura to support humanitarian operations in handling the impacts\nof the Mount Dukono eruption,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the Indonesian Army is acting swiftly to aid in the\nsearch, evacuation, and handling of hikers affected by the volcanic\neruption.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Kodam XV\/Pattimura has deployed one platoon from\nKodim Tobelo, one squad from Koramil Galela, and one platoon from Yonif\n732 to reinforce the joint SAR team.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to TNI AD elements, the search and evacuation operations\nalso involve one squad from Basarnas, one platoon from Brimob, one\nplatoon from North Halmahera Police Resort, and support from around 20\nlocal residents.<\/p>\n<p>He said he is personally going to the field to lead and coordinate\nthe humanitarian operations alongside Basarnas, Polri, BPBD, local\ngovernment, and community volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary data indicates that 20 hikers were in the Mount Dukono\narea, comprising 11 Indonesian citizens (WNI) and nine foreigners\n(WNA).<\/p>\n<p>Of these, 17 have been successfully rescued, consisting of 10 WNI and\nseven WNA, while three have been declared deceased, namely one WNI and\ntwo WNA.<\/p>\n<p>In relation to this, he emphasised that Kasad has requested all\npersonnel on duty to prioritise safety during the search and evacuation\nprocess.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKasad has stressed that all personnel must continue to pay attention\nto safety factors, given that volcanic activity at Mount Dukono is still\noccurring and poses potential dangers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that conditions around Mount Dukono have not yet\nnecessitated the evacuation of residents. Nevertheless, locals are\nadvised to remain vigilant against volcanic ash exposure by wearing\nmasks when outdoors.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, all surviving WNI victims have returned to their\nrespective families, while the surviving WNA victims are currently in\nTernate awaiting flights to Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Indonesian Army through Kodam XV\/Pattimura will continue to be\npresent to assist the community and fully support all humanitarian\noperation processes until declared complete,\u201d he stated.<\/p>",
