Medan \u2013 Personnel from the Military Command (Kodim) 0208\/Asahan\ntogether with technicians from the Engineer Battalion 1\/DD have\ncompleted a modular bridge in Medang Deras District, Batu Bara Regency,\nNorth Sumatra, as an access route connecting villages in the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe modular bridge serves as a connector between Sei Buah Keras\nVillage and Durian Village in Medang Deras District, Batu Bara Regency,\u201d\nsaid Colonel Infantry Asrul Kurniawan Harahap, Head of Information for\nthe Bukit Barisan Military Command (Kodam I), in Medan on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Asrul stated that the presence of the bridge is expected to improve\nresident mobility whilst supporting social and economic activities in\nthe area.<\/p>\n
He further noted that the construction of the modular bridge\nrepresents a tangible expression of the TNI\u2019s commitment to assisting\ncommunities in the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cPersonnel carried out the assembly of the bridge structure and\ninstallation of reinforcing steel manually, prepared various supporting\nconstruction components, and ensured that the entire work process\nproceeded effectively in accordance with technical standards,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
In addition to assembly and reinforcement, activities also included\npainting using a compressor, cleaning and arranging the area around the\nbridge, erecting tents, and installing the Red and White flag as a mark\nof the completion of construction.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe modular bridge is now 100 per cent complete and ready for use by\nthe community as access for local residents,\u201d said the Kodam\nofficial.<\/p>\n
