        "content": "<p>The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) has completely closed\nall tourist access to Mount Bromo to facilitate firefighting efforts in\nthe area, effective Saturday at 10 p.m. Western Indonesia Time.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the TNBTS Central Office Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha, in an\nofficial statement received in Malang, East Java, said the closure\ndecision was based on the latest developments on the ground, where\nflames in the Bromo Caldera area are spreading increasingly wider.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn order to ensure the effectiveness of firefighting efforts, visits\nto Bromo from all entry points are closed for tourism,\u201d Rudi said.<\/p>\n<p>Tourist access to Mount Bromo comprises five entry points spread\nacross four regions: Cemorolawang in Probolinggo Regency, Wonokitri in\nPasuruan Regency, Jemplang and Coban Trisula in Malang Regency, and\nSenduro in Lumajang Regency.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond firefighting effectiveness, the closure also takes into\naccount the safety and security of all visitors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c(The closure) is until an unspecified time limit,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, tourists are being offered the option of a refund by the\nTNBTS Central Office.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors will be asked to first complete a form provided on the\nonline booking page.<\/p>\n<p>Rudi urged all tourism service operators to temporarily refrain from\nconducting any activities within the TNBTS area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is for the safety, security, and collective well-being of\neveryone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Based on a video uploaded by the TNBTS Central Office on its official\nInstagram page, flames can be seen burning on a cliff area near the\nTengger Caldera Ring Road (JLKT).<\/p>\n<p>In the video, an officer said the fire has also spread towards Mount\nKursi, which is still located within the TNBTS area.<\/p>",
