In
most word processing programs, the default is Times or
TimesNewRoman. These two fonts, however, are far too much in use
that we usually choose different though similar ones, such as
NewCenturySchlbk.

In CorelDRAW!, in which I usually use the artistic text tool
to create banners in leaflets and brochures, my favorite font is
USABlack.

To change CorelDRAW!'s default setting so that a different
font is always used as you enter new strings of text is very
easy: With no string of text selected, click on the Text menu
item, and then on Character.

You'll be asked whether the new default should be applicable
only to artistic text, paragraph text, or both. All you have to
do is check or uncheck the boxes next to the options. When done,
click on OK and a dialog box will appear.

You can now select the font that you want to be the default.
You can also change the default font size, alignment, etc. Once
you press OK, the settings will become the default--until you
modify them again.

As a matter of fact, you can change any other default setting
in CorelDRAW! in the same manner, such as the default outline
color and thickness and the default fill. Remember that you
should not select any object before modifying the settings. If
you have selected an object, the new settings will apply only to
it.

-- Zatni Arbi
",
