Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in West Java are\nconsidered to need the MagangHub programme, which was launched by the\ngovernment during President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s administration. The\nprogramme is seen as a way for MSMEs to acquire educated young workers\nwhile simultaneously accelerating business development.<\/p>\n
Tina Wiryawati, a member of the West Java Regional House of\nRepresentatives (DPRD) from the Gerindra Faction, stated that many MSME\nowners possess significant potential for growth. However, many are still\nhindered by a lack of manpower to manage various business\nrequirements.<\/p>\n
According to Tina, the presence of interns for a six-month period can\nassist with tasks that have not been maximally addressed, ranging from\nmarketing and administration to social media management and product\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese MSMEs sometimes have established businesses and great\nproducts, but the management capacity is limited. With the presence of\ninterns, they can assist with tasks that have not yet been completed,\u201d\nTina said on Tuesday (2nd September 2026).<\/p>\n
She assessed that the programme presents a highly attractive\nopportunity for MSMEs because interns receive a stipend from the\ngovernment during the programme.<\/p>\n
This condition, she noted, allows MSME owners to obtain additional\nmanpower without being burdened by the payment of intern stipends.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe interns are paid by the government. Therefore, MSMEs can utilise\neducated labour to assist their businesses for six months,\u201d she\nadded.<\/p>\n
Tina hopes that MSME owners do not view interns merely as additional\nlabour. In her view, participants with specific educational backgrounds\nand skills could instead be encouraged to find new ways to make\nbusinesses more organised and scalable.<\/p>\n
She cited an example of MSMEs that still rely on conventional sales\nmethods; interns could assist in introducing marketing through digital\nplatforms to broaden market reach.<\/p>\n
\u201cDo not just instruct them to help with daily tasks. If possible,\ninterns should also be given the space to provide ideas and develop the\nbusiness,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
