Timorese youths call for integration<\/p>\n
YOGYAKARTA: Some fifty members from East Timorese
\nprointegration groups held a modest ceremony on Tuesday at
\nYogyakarta's East Timor Students Dormitory to celebrate what they
\ncalled \"the 25th anniversary of East Timor's integration to
\nIndonesia\".<\/p>\n
Participants of the ceremony, residing in Yogyakarta and its
\nsurrounding towns, sang the national anthem Indonesia Raya as
\nthey raised the Indonesian red-and-white flag.<\/p>\n
Bernardino Mariano Sousa of the prointegration Uni Timor
\nAswain (UNTAS) led the brief commemoration.<\/p>\n
During their ceremony several youths yelled their allegiance
\nto the Republic of Indonesia and pledged to continue the struggle
\nfor the return of East Timor.<\/p>\n
\"The struggle for the return of East Timor is a must, as we
\ncan't let our people in East Timor fall into uncertainty under
\nUNTAET's authority,\" the chief of the prointegration group
\nForbalott, Arnaldo Basmeri dos Reis Araujo, said, referring to
\nthe United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Mariano expressed his belief that most East
\nTimorese refugees would prefer to be registered as Indonesian
\ncitizens than living in East Timor in an uncertain economic and
