        "content": "<p>Timor sedan sales slump<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Ballooning inventories of the Timor sedans has forced<br>\nTimor Distributor Nasional to revise it sales target down by 25<br>\npercent.<\/p>\n<p>The company president, Suparto Soejatmo, said last week that<br>\nintensified competition with other models, including low-priced<br>\nJapanese cars, had forced the decision.<\/p>\n<p>Suparto admitted that sales of Timor cars had slowed recently.<br>\nHe said that the monthly target was now between 3,000 and 4,000<br>\ncars, down from the original plan of more than 4,000.<\/p>\n<p>Since its debut in September, 5,800 Timors have been sold,<br>\nabout half the initial target.<\/p>\n<p>According to a Nikkei English News report PT Timor was<br>\napproaching government offices and the military to promote sales.<\/p>\n<p>The cars are manufactured by Kia Motors Co for PT Timor Putra<br>\nNasional of Indonesia.<\/p>",
