`Time' magazine returns next week<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The U.S. publication Time magazine will reach
\nits readers in Indonesia again next week after being absent for
\nthe past three weeks, the magazine's local distributor announced
\nyesterday.<\/p>\n
Iwan Wijaya, general manager of PT Gunung Agung, the
\nmagazine's sole distributor for the country said that Time's
\ndistribution had been halted because of problems with the
\npublisher's representative in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n
\"Now everything has been settled and subscribers should
\nreceive their magazine again on Monday,\" Iwan told The Jakarta
\nPost by phone.<\/p>\n
He said the absence of the Time's July 11, July 18 and July 25
\neditions had nothing to do with the contents as some had
\nspeculated.<\/p>\n
\"It's purely a business matter,\" he said, emphasizing that the
\npublisher's representatives and his office had conducted intense
\nnegotiations to resolve the problem.<\/p>\n
Subscribers in Indonesia will not receive the three missing
\neditions, and instead they will receive three additional editions
\nat the end of the subscription, Iwan said.<\/p>\n
Regarding the July 11 edition, which reportedly carried an
\narticle on Indonesia about street protests against the closure of
\nDetik, Tempo and Editor magazines, Iwan said
\nthe distributor knew nothing about this.<\/p>\n
The edition was never sent by Time's printing company in
\nSingapore, he said. \"How can we know about the contents when the
\nedition was never sent to us.\"<\/p>\n
Even the Ministry of Information, from which the distributor
\noften receive directives, did not obtain a copy of that edition.<\/p>\n
Time magazine has a circulation of around 12,000 copies in
\nIndonesia with PT Gunung Agung serving as the distributor since
