Three wounded in KPI office attack<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): An unidentified group of one hundred men
\nattacked the office of the Indonesian Sailors' Union (KPI) at Jl
\nCikini 58, in the Menteng district of Central Jakarta early on
\nTuesday, injuring three employees.<\/p>\n
In addition to hurting the three KPI employees, identified as
\nIswandi, 30, Salam, 25 and Iwan, 28, the attackers also damaged
\nthe office doors, windows, and equipment inside the office.<\/p>\n
As of Tuesday noon, the wounded employees still lay in bed at
\nthe Baruna medical clinic behind the KPI office.<\/p>\n
According to Menteng Police chief Comr. Eky H.S. who had
\nquestioned several witnesses, such an attack was sparked off by
\nrevenge among the previous KPI board of executives.<\/p>\n
The office was also the subject of a revenge attack in April
\nlast year.<\/p>\n
KPI chairman Elison Hutasoit said the alleged attackers were
\nhired by members of old KPI board whose positions at KPI had been
\ntaken by new board members.<\/p>\n
However, Eky said police would not just trust Elison's
\ntestimony until further investigations into the case had been
