The<br>\ndiscovery of the torpedoes in the densely populated subdistrict<br>\nof Amahusu in Ambon city caused unease among local residents.<\/p>\n<p>Police personnel were quickly deployed to the area to dig up<br>\nthe torpedoes. They quickly disinterred them and brought them<br>\nback to police headquarters for destruction. Two of the torpedoes<br>\nwere 1.5 meters long and 40 centimeters in diameter, while the<br>\nother was 80 centimeters long and 25 centimeters in diameter.<\/p>\n<p>The torpedoes were discovered by Tony Siloy, 44, as he was<br>\ncleaning a pigpen near his house. After ascertaining that the<br>\nobjects he had found were in fact torpedoes, he reported his<br>\ndiscovery to the police.
