The involvement of TNI officers in the acid attack on KontraS\nactivist Andrie Yunus has been revealed. Three of the four suspects are\nknown to hold the rank of first officers.<\/p>\n
TNI Headquarters has disclosed the identities of the four suspects.\nThey are Captain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, and Sergeant\nES.<\/p>\n
This was stated by the Commander of the TNI Central Military Police\n(Danpuspom) TNI, Major General Yusri Nuryanto, during a press conference\nat TNI Headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday (18\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cCaptain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, Sergeant ES,\u201d Yusri\nexplained.<\/p>\n
Yusri emphasised that his side would handle the case professionally\nand as quickly as possible, given the public scrutiny over the\ninvolvement of soldiers, including officers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will work to the maximum with the hope that this investigation\nprocess can be carried out as soon as possible, professionally, and then\nhanded over to the prosecutor in this case, the military prosecutor\n(oditur militer), for trial,\u201d Yusri stressed.<\/p>\n
He also assured that the trial would be held openly. \u201cAnd so far,\nmilitary trials have always been open,\u201d Yusri added.<\/p>\n
Four Suspects from Navy and Air Force<\/p>\n
Previously, Yusri stated that his side had received the four suspects\nalleged to have carried out the acid attack on Andrie Yunus. The four\nwere handed over by TNI BAIS and originate from the Navy (AL) and Air\nForce (AU) branches.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo this morning I received, received from the BAIS TNI commander\nfour people alleged to be suspects in the assault against Mr Andrie\nYunus,\u201d Yusri said.<\/p>\n
Yusri noted that the four suspects come from two branches. \u201cFrom the\nNavy and Air Force,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Suspected Orders from Someone<\/p>\n
The four TNI soldiers are now undergoing intensive examination at\nPuspom TNI. Investigators are still delving into the possibility of\nsomeone giving orders for the acid attack.<\/p>\n
\u201cRegarding whose orders? So we are still delving into that because it\nrequires, so to speak, gathering witnesses and then the existing\nevidence,\u201d said Danpuspom TNI Major General Yusri Nuryanto.<\/p>\n
The perpetrators are members of TNI BAIS from the Navy and Air Force\nbranches, namely Captain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, and\nSergeant ES. In addition, investigators are also examining the motive\nbehind the attack.<\/p>\n
Yusri assured that the investigation would be conducted transparently\nup to the trial stage.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen regarding transparency in the investigation, so Puspom TNI will\nwork professionally. We will later report on the stages from the\ninvestigation process, filing, then handing over the file to the\nMilitary Prosecutor so that in the trial process,\u201d Yusri explained.<\/p>\n

The acid attack on Andrie Yunus occurred on Thursday night (12\/3) in\nSalemba, Central Jakarta.
