The demolition was carried out by the West Lombok Department\nof Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, and Settlement Areas\n(PUPR-PKP) because the structures violated coastal buffer zone\nregulations.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the West Lombok PUPR-PKP Department, Lalu Ratnawi, stated\nthat heavy machinery was used for the demolition starting on Sunday\n(31\/05\/2026). Prior to the demolition, the department had issued three\nwarning letters to the resort management, but construction had continued\nregardless.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe location had previously received three warning letters,\u201d said\nRatnawi on Tuesday (02\/06\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>After the warnings were ignored, the PUPR-PKP Department pursued a\nmediation process with the resort management. As a result, both parties\nagreed to demolish the buildings that breached the regulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe execution process proceeded smoothly without any opposition from\nthe resort management, as it was the result of several mediation\nsessions,\u201d Ratnagi explained.<\/p>\n<p>The resort manager, Jamie McIntyre, stated that an evaluation of the\ndevelopment master plan for the area has been conducted. He ensured that\nall future construction processes will adhere to the applicable\nregulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are committed to carrying out development responsibly and\nensuring that all construction processes comply with government\nregulations,\u201d said McIntyre.<\/p>",
