        "content": "<p>Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds struck the Taman district,\nSidoarjo, on Friday (6\/3) afternoon. As a result, three electricity\npoles and a billboard collapsed.<\/p>\n<p>This incident triggered a long traffic jam on the main route\nconnecting Surabaya and Mojokerto. Traffic Police Sector Taman\u2019s Chief\nof Section (Kanit Lantas) Iptu Heri Nurcahyo said the incident occurred\nat 15:10 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). The material from the\nelectricity poles lying across the road nearly brought traffic to a\nstandstill from both directions.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We and the Taman Police sector members immediately went to the scene\nto regulate traffic so it wouldn\u2019t get even more congested,\u2019 Heri said\non Friday (6\/3).<\/p>\n<p>To avoid the risk of electric shock to road users and officers on the\nground, the electrical flow around the site had to be switched off\ntemporarily.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018At the moment, officers are carrying out evacuations and cutting\ncables dangling across the roadway,\u2019 Heri added.<\/p>\n<p>Heri confirmed there were no fatalities in this incident. However, he\nurged motorists to remain vigilant and follow officers\u2019 instructions at\nthe scene for everyone\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, PLN\u2019s West Surabaya Customer Service Unit (UP3 Surabaya\nBarat) deployed at least 63 personnel to restore electrical\ninfrastructure damaged by the billboard.<\/p>\n<p>PLN UP3 Surabaya Barat Manager, Chyntia Dewi Ariyani, explained that\nthe authorities are working to minimize the duration of the power outage\nby performing network maneuvers.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Restoration efforts include localizing the affected substations,\nreconstructing substations for normalisation, and repairing the broken\npoles that were affected,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n<p>She also urged the public to proactively report potential electrical\nhazards via the PLN Mobile app to speed up response at other vulnerable\npoints.<\/p>",
