Three Pakistanis to be deported<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Three Pakistanis are facing deportation by the
\nCentral Jakarta immigration office for entering the capital
\nwithout proper papers, immigration director for the office of
\ncontrol and supervision Zaiman Nurmatias said on Friday.<\/p>\n
The three were identified as Muzaffar Ahmed Khan (holder of
\npassport No. E.569449), Rana Muhammad Ateeq (No. E.080873) and
\nSohail Akhtar (No. E.659297).<\/p>\n
\"They were arrested at the Central Jakarta immigration office
\non Sept. 2 when they were applying for limited stay permits to
\nwork at local contractor PT Sotara Duga for quality control,
\nbusiness development and technical assistance,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Their applications were about to be approved since it seemed
\nthat they had met all requirements in line with existing
\nregulations, he said. When they reached the immigration control
\nand supervision section, however, one of the officers became
\nsuspicious about the validity of their sponsor letters from
\nSotara Duga.<\/p>\n
\"The officer later checked the company's stated address of Jl.
\nMutiara 1, Central Jakarta, and found out that the firm did not
\nactually exist,\" Zaiman said.<\/p>\n
He said that the three had been intensively questioned and
\nwould be deported as soon as possible. (hhr)<\/p>",
