Three more parking operators adjust rates<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Three more parking operators adjusted their
\nrates in line with a city-mandated regulation on Friday to avoid
\nthe prospect of their premises being sealed off by the
\nadministration.<\/p>\n
Head of City Parking Agency Yani Mulyadi said the three --
\noperators at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, Sentra Mulia
\nand Menara Mulia -- brought the list of operators who had
\nsuccumbed to his warning letters to 25.<\/p>\n
The administration has threatened to seal off the equipment of
\nparking lots which continue to defy the new rules requiring them
\nto set a maximum parking rate of Rp 1,000 per hour.<\/p>\n
The booths at four parking lots have already been closed for
\nignoring the warning. They are the parking lots at Taman Anggrek
\nMall, Medistra Hospital and the Adhigraha Building on Jl. Gatot
\nSubroto and Plaza Kuningan office building on Jl. HR Rasuna Said.<\/p>\n
Most of these parking spaces are managed by private operators
\nwhich have been charging higher rates either for cars or
\nmotorcycles.<\/p>\n
Yani said action against four other operators must wait for
\nthe outcome of a lawsuit jointly filed by them against the city
\nadministration at the Jakarta State Administrative Court. These
\nare operators managing parking at the Jakarta Hilton Hotel,
\nJayanti Plaza office building, Harapan Bunda Hospital and Mitra
\nKeluarga Hospital.<\/p>\n
The parking agency will survey the activities of three other
\noperators -- at MMC Hospital, Wisma Bumi Putra and the Jakarta
\nStock Exchange buildings -- before deciding on further action, he
