Three JSX director boards nominated<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Capital Market Supervisory Agency (Bapepam)
\nis scheduled today to receive the nomination of three groups of
\nexecutives as directors of the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX).<\/p>\n
The agency will announce the approved nominees next month.<\/p>\n
Sources at the capital market said Friday evening that JSX
\nmembers submitted Friday three packages of directorship
\nnomination to the bourse's commissioners, who would pass them on
\nto Bapepam today.<\/p>\n
The sources said that Mohammad Lattuconsina, Cyrill Nurhadi
\nand Yannes Naibaho were named as candidates to lead the stock
\nexchange.<\/p>\n
They said Lattuconsina was supported by 20 JSX members,
\ncomprised of both local and foreign securities companies, while
\nthe number of supporters for the other two candidates were
\nunclear.<\/p>\n
Only 78 securities firms -- 55 local companies and 23 joint
\nventures -- are qualified to nominate the directors and
\ncommissioners.<\/p>\n
Lattuconsina, a retired Bapepam official, is now a director of
\nPT Pasar Raya. He retired from Bapepam in 1992 after working
\nthere for 16 years. His last position at the agency was chief of
\ntransactions.<\/p>\n
His team, according to the sources, will consist of Stanislaus
\nSay, presently a director of JSX, Sofian Jalil, a research
\ndirector at the Ministry of Finance's Center for Policy and
\nImplementation Studies, and Indra Savitri from Savitri and Motik
\nlaw office.<\/p>\n
Cyrill Nurhadi is now the director of the Indonesian
\nSecurities Clearing Depository and his team will consist of Felia
\nSalim and Mas Achmad Daniri, currently directors of the JSX, and
\nEdwin Stambul, a director of a securities company,<\/p>\n
Yannes Naibaho is the president of PT UBS Securities and also
\nthe chairman of the newly-founded association of the Indonesian
\nSecurities Companies. His team will consist of two executives of
\nthe association and a government official.<\/p>\n
The sources said that the teams of nominees, when approved by
\nBapepam, will have to compete with each other in an election in
\nwhich all JSX members, whose number nearly reaches 200, will
\nvote.<\/p>\n
On the board of commissioners, Director General of Taxation
\nFuad Bawazier is likely to have no competitors in the election,
\nparticularly with the resignation of the former chief
\ncommissioner, Marzuki Usman.<\/p>\n
Fuad will most likely be assisted by Rini S. from PT Astra
\nInternational, Titik Prabowo from Pentasena, Erry Hardjapamungkas
\nfrom PT Tambang Timah in the board of commissioners. (08)<\/p>",
