Three jailed for 62 months<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The North Jakarta district court sentenced three
\nmen to a total of 62 months for separate crimes yesterday.<\/p>\n
Judge Endang Pratiwi sentenced Sui Aang for theft of his
\ncompany's revenues to 42 months in prison.<\/p>\n
Sui, an employee at Tunas Budi Harti publishers on Jl. Kapuk
\nKamal Muara in North Jakarta, had failed to submit Rp 165 million
\nin children's books purchases to the company between Nov.14, 1994
\nto Apr. 27, 1995.<\/p>\n
Prosecutor Djoko Widodo said that Sui had cashed customers'
\ncheques and kept the money for himself. He then submitted bogus
\ncheques from several banks to the company.<\/p>\n
Sui, who has been detained since May 8, 1995 has 30 months to
\ngo before completing his sentence.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, judge Raden Ida sentenced each of two youths found
\nguilty of stealing to ten months in prison.<\/p>\n
Agus Duriah bin Kasini and Rencan Arita bin Acan were found
\nguilty of stealing a wallet containing Rp 37,000, two watches, a
\npair of black Levi's slacks, and a piece of window glass from a
\nhome on Jl. Murai ll in North Jakarta on March 1, 1996.<\/p>\n
Agus has been detained since March 13 and Rencan since March
\n21.<\/p>\n
Following the verdict, neighbors of victim Suwiryo asked
\nprosecutor Roekmono why the youths received only light sentences.<\/p>\n
