        "content": "<p>Three die in Semarang floods<\/p>\n<p>SEMARANG: Three people went missing when another flash flood<br>\nhit Semarang Tuesday, inundating some 8,000 houses, causing<br>\nseveral buildings to collapse, and forcing an estimated 1,000<br>\npeople to flee to higher ground.<\/p>\n<p>Those who went missing were Sartini, 25, Rasem, 49, and<br>\nRusmadi, 51. Witnesses said the three residents of Tlahab Lor<br>\nvillage, Karangrejo, Purbalingga, were drowned in the flood.<\/p>\n<p>Incessant rain over the past three days has caused the<br>\nflooding which hit almost all of Semarang. Several government<br>\noffices, shopping complexes, markets, a hospital, even the<br>\ngovernor&apos;s official house, were inundated.<\/p>\n<p>The worst hit areas were Lampersari and Gayamsari in east<br>\nSemarang district, and north and west Semarang districts.<\/p>\n<p>Central Java Governor Soewardi told The Jakarta Post this was<br>\nthe worst flood in the past three years.
