        "content": "<p>Tangerang \u2014 Passenger movement at Soekarno-Hatta International\nAirport in Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, or three days\nbefore Eid al-Fitr (H-3), reached 162,381 people.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Deputy for Communications and Legal Affairs at PT Angkasa\nPura Indonesia\u2019s Soekarno-Hatta Airport branch, Yudistiawan, stated that\npassenger movement was dominated by departing passengers leaving Jakarta\nfor their hometowns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDepartures totalled 94,500 passengers and arrivals 75,343\npassengers,\u201d Yudistiawan said when confirmed on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The increase in passenger numbers occurred as Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri\napproached, a major annual occasion when Indonesians travel to their\nhome regions.<\/p>\n<p>From an operational perspective, Soekarno-Hatta Airport handled 590\ndeparture flights and 589 arrival flights. \u201cFor total aircraft movement,\ntoday we reached 1,179 flights,\u201d Yudistiawan said.<\/p>\n<p>Based on terminal distribution, Terminal 2 was the busiest in terms\nof flight volume, with 447 flights or approximately 37.92 per cent of\ntotal traffic. Meanwhile, Terminal 3 recorded the highest number of\npassengers, with 62,300 people or approximately 36.68 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond passenger flights, cargo operations continued, with a total of\n36 flights or approximately 3.06 per cent of overall aircraft\nmovement.<\/p>\n<p>Yudistiawan stated that the airport was continuing to ensure\noperational efficiency and services for passengers amid increased\ntraffic as the peak exodus period approached.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are continuing to optimise service and coordination with all\nstakeholders to ensure operational efficiency during the Eid\ntransportation period,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Based on observations at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, activity at several\nterminals increased. One notable example was Terminal 3, which became\nincreasingly crowded from the morning. Queues were also visible at\nseveral airlines, including TransNusa and Garuda Indonesia, with queues\nforming at check-in areas and security checkpoints. Airport staff were\nalso observed directing passenger flow to reduce congestion at several\npoints.<\/p>",
