Three BNI suspects confront Edi<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: A key suspect in the Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI)
\nscandal, Edi Santoso, was confronted with three other suspects on
\nMonday as police continued their investigation into the case.<\/p>\n
Edi, the former head of foreign customers at the BNI Kebayoran
\nBaru branch, was confronted with the co-owner of the Gramarindo
\nGroup, Adrian Waworuntu, the former operational manager of the
\nBNI Kebayoran Baru branch, Nirwan Ali, and an unidentified
\nsuspect.<\/p>\n
Edi sparked controversy early last month when he released a
\nletter claiming that he, along with other suspects in the
\nscandal, including Maria Pulien Lumowa and Adrian Waworuntu, met
\nwith Gen. (ret) Wiranto twice to discuss Wiranto's plan to run
\nfor president next year. Wiranto has denied meeting Edi.<\/p>\n
Police hoped the confrontation would clear up the confusion
\nresulting from the letter.<\/p>\n
\"I haven't received a report from my men about the results of
\nthe confrontation but we will soon inform you of any progress in
\nthe case,\" said the National Police's director of economic
\ncrimes, Brig. Gen. Samuel Ismoko. --JP<\/p>",
