Three arrested for timber theft<\/p>\n
SAMARINDA, East Kalimantan: Three Malaysians were arrested
\nrecently for timber theft and illegal felling in Lumbis
\nsubdistrict, Bulungan district, police said yesterday.<\/p>\n
The three were employees of a company which subcontracts for
\nSabah's largest timber company, Log Hwat, police spokesman Lt.
\nCol. Faah Sumarsono of the East Kalimantan Police was quoted by
\nAntara as saying.<\/p>\n
The Malaysians were identified as Chin Min Khiang alias Acin,
\nHuong Yan Chin and Rajendran, respectively the manager, assistant
\nmanager and foreman of the company, Sarikat Lagi Yakin Sendirian
\nBerhad.<\/p>\n
Confiscated from them were three tractors, two logging trucks,
\na loader, a pickup, a utility car, a cellular phone and 94 logs,
\nSumarsono said.<\/p>\n
This was the second case of wood theft discovered by police in
\nthe last four months.<\/p>\n
The first also involved a Malaysian national who was caught
\nwith eight tractors.<\/p>\n
The police discovered more than 10 cases of illegal tree
\nfelling last year, he said.<\/p>",
