The Criminal Investigation Unit of Serang Police arrested three\nsuspects for vehicle theft using a car window smash-and-grab method in\nthe Cikande district of Serang Regency. The suspects had targeted a\nwoman who had just withdrawn cash from a bank.<\/p>\n
The victim, a woman named Ani, aged 46, became the target after\nwithdrawing money from a bank for employee salary purposes on Monday, 2\nMarch in the morning. Unbeknownst to her, she had been followed by the\nthree suspects identified as AS (55), CA (33), and AM (39).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe victim had just withdrawn Rp 55 million from the bank. The money\nwas left on the front seat of her New Avanza whilst the victim was\nexchanging small change at a roadside stall. It was at that moment that\nthe suspects carried out their act in Nambo Ilir, Cikande,\u201d said Serang\nPolice Chief, AKBP Andri Kurniawan, on Monday, 9 March 2026.<\/p>\n
Following the incident, the victim immediately reported the matter to\nCikande Police Station. Armed with this report, the Mobile Team of the\nCriminal Investigation Unit of Serang Police, led by Ipda Athallah\nThoriq together with Aipda Sutrisno, conducted an investigation until\nthey successfully identified the suspects.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter obtaining information about the suspects\u2019 whereabouts, the\nteam immediately took action and managed to apprehend two suspects,\nnamely CA and AM, whilst they were sheltering at a petrol station in the\nCisoka area, Tangerang Regency,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Andri stated that the suspects had actually planned to strike again,\ntargeting bank customers in the Maja area. However, the plan failed\nbecause one of the suspects, AS, became separated from the group due to\nrain.<\/p>\n
From the confessions of the two arrested suspects, officers then\nlearned of the whereabouts of suspect AS, who was sheltering at an\nAlfamart minimarket in the Cisoka area. \u201cOfficers immediately took\naction and managed to apprehend the suspect without resistance,\u201d Andri\nadded.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Serang Police\u2019s Criminal Investigation Head, AKP Andi\nKurniady ES, revealed that this group are seasoned criminals. They had\npreviously carried out a similar act on 24 September 2025 on\nSerang-Jakarta Road.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the previous act, the suspects successfully made off with Rp 400\nmillion from inside the victim\u2019s vehicle.
