Thousands of pilgrims from various regions crowded the town of\nLarantuka, East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), to participate\nin the series of Semana Santa processions in 2026.<\/p>\n
To ensure all activities run safely and smoothly, NTT Police Chief\nIrjen Rudi Darmoko, along with East Flores Police Chief AKBP Adhitya\nOctorio Putra and main officials from NTT Police Headquarters, inspected\nsecurity arrangements at Kapela Tuan Ma on Thursday (2\/4).<\/p>\n
His presence at the location demonstrates the commitment of the\npolice apparatus in providing a sense of safety and comfort for all the\nfaithful participating in the annual religious procession.<\/p>\n
The Police Chief checked several security points, from pilgrim entry\nroutes and service posts to the readiness of personnel guarding the area\naround Kapela Tuan Ma. He also engaged in dialogue with on-site officers\nto ensure optimal service to the public.<\/p>\n
NTT Police Public Relations Chief Kombes Henry Novika Chandra stated\nthat the inspection was conducted to confirm the readiness of personnel\nand supporting facilities in securing one of the important series of\nSemana Santa in Larantuka.<\/p>\n
\u201cNTT Police Chief wants to ensure that all personnel are truly\npresent in providing a sense of safety and comfort to the public,\nespecially the pilgrims participating in the procession at Kapela Tuan\nMa,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to him, security efforts are not only focused on the smooth\nrunning of the procession but also encompass public services, traffic\nflow management, and anticipation of potential public order disturbances\naround the location.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll personnel have been instructed to prioritise a humane and\ncompassionate approach, in line with the spirit of the Compassionate NTT\nPolice,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
With the swelling number of pilgrims, the police apparatus together\nwith East Flores Police Resort deployed personnel at several strategic\npoints to ensure community activities proceed orderly without\nsignificant obstacles.<\/p>\n
At the end of the inspection, the Police Chief reminded all personnel\nto remain vigilant, maintain their health, and carry out their duties\nwith full responsibility to create a safe and conducive situation during\nthe ongoing processions.<\/p>\n
During the security monitoring, the NTT Police Chief also directly\ninspected the health posts prepared for the pilgrims in Larantuka\ntown.<\/p>\n
The Police Chief ensured that health services operate optimally amid\nthe influx of faithful participating in the Semana Santa series. He\nchecked the readiness of medical personnel, availability of medicines,\nambulances, rest areas, and emergency handling facilities at the health\nposts.<\/p>\n
Several posts inspected were located around the Reina Rosari\nLarantuka Cathedral Church area and the main procession route to Kapela\nTuan Ma, which is a concentration point for pilgrims.<\/p>\n
According to Kombes Henry Novika Chandra, the presence of health\nposts is crucial given that the processions last quite a long time and\ninvolve thousands of people, including the elderly and pilgrims from\noutside the region.<\/p>\n
In addition to inspecting facilities, the Police Chief also dialogued\nwith medical personnel and guarding staff. He reminded all officers to\nremain alert, friendly, and responsive in handling every public\nneed.<\/p>\n
