Jakarta (ANTARA) - Thousands of Da\u2019i and Da\u2019iat, entrepreneurs, and\nMinang diaspora scattered across Indonesia and abroad will inaugurate\nthe central office of the Da\u2019i Perantau Minang (Daram) at Jalan Hankam,\nPondok Gede, Bekasi on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere will be thousands of participants attending this inauguration\nboth in person and online, involving attendees from within the country\nand abroad,\u201d said the General Chairman of DPP Daram, Buya Dr Elfa\nMukhlis, accompanied by Daram Chairman Buya Chairat and Committee\nChairman Buya Supriyadi in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n
He stated that Daram is a community organisation serving as a\ngathering place for ulama, da\u2019i, and Islamic activists originating from\nMinangkabau who are spread throughout the world.<\/p>\n
According to him, Daram was founded on 8 August 2018, with its centre\nin Jakarta, and has developed rapidly with 16 Regional Representative\nCouncils (DPW) in Indonesia and presence in 15 countries through Foreign\nRepresentative Councils (DPLN).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe DPLN of Daram are in the United States, Australia, Saudi Arabia,\nMalaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Japan, and others,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n
He mentioned that this DPP office is a promise from the general\nchairman that has now been fulfilled, and the office will be used for\ncommunity, humanitarian, and religious activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cTomorrow\u2019s event will be attended by da\u2019i and Minang diaspora who\nwill gather together and plan various social and economic activities\nsimultaneously,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He added that DPP Daram also plans to build the Islamic Center Daram\nInternational (ICDI), which will be constructed on a 75-hectare plot of\nland.<\/p>\n
On this land, an Islamic Center area and its supporting facilities\nwill be built on 10 hectares.<\/p>\n
Then, 35 hectares will be developed into an integrated Islamic\nresidential area, combined with educational, health, business,\neducational tourism zones, and others.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is an integrated Islamic area and a centre for community\neconomic activities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to him, this programme is planned to run over the next five\nyears. In the first year, comprehensive socialisation will be conducted\nto the Minangkabau community both at home and abroad.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will socialise this programme for a year to invite investors,\ncommunities, and the public to get involved in these activities,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
According to him, for the location so far, they already have options\nstarting from Babelan in Bekasi, Parung in Bogor, Jonggol, and\nothers.<\/p>\n
