Around 50,000 people took to the streets of Vienna to oppose planned cuts to university funding, arguing that the government’s €16 billion allocation for 2028–2030 will not even offset inflation. Student representatives warn that the reductions could narrow academic programmes, weaken student support and worsen employment conditions, while university administrators backed participation in the protest.",
