        "content": "<p>Thousands denied entry to Bali<\/p>\n<p>DENPASAR, Bali: Bali authorities have barred nearly 8,000 non-<br>\nBalinese Indonesians from entering the resort island through<br>\nGilimanuk port -- nearest to East Java -- since the Oct. 12<br>\nterrorist attack for failing to produce proper identity<br>\ndocuments.<\/p>\n<p>\"There is no compromise. They have to return to their<br>\nrespective areas of origin to obtain the documents,\" Dede<br>\nHeryandhy, head of the residents registration, manpower and<br>\ntransmigration office in Jembrana regency, said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the port security authorities had found 3,431 people<br>\nwithout ID cards and 4,558 others with expired ID cards during<br>\nregular checks over the past month. The people were mostly<br>\ndestined for the provincial capital of Denpasar and the<br>\nneighboring town of Badung, Dede said.<\/p>\n<p>The devastating explosion in Kuta, which is situated in Badung<br>\nregency, killed at least 190 people.<\/p>\n<p>Governor I Dewa Beratha has ordered an increase in security<br>\nmeasures at all access points to Bali in the wake of the carnage.<br>\n-- Antara<\/p>",
