The Thousand Islands Regency government has confirmed that\nsacrificial animals distributed to the Thousand Islands for the 1447\nHijriah Idul Adha are healthy and comply with Islamic Sharia law.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe conducted animal health checks at Muara Angke prior to their\ndeparture for the Thousand Islands, confirming they are healthy and\ncompliant with Islamic Sharia law,\u201d said Nurliati, Head of the Thousand\nIslands Sub-District Office for Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture\n(Sudin KPKP), in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
She added that all livestock sent had undergone health checks and\nwere declared healthy and fit for sacrifice.<\/p>\n
She further stated that to ensure the animals arrive in good\ncondition, dozens of officials have been deployed to inspect them upon\narrival on each island until the day of slaughter.<\/p>\n
Health checks are also conducted at the slaughter sites.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have engaged the Indonesian Veterinary Association to ensure all\nsacrificial animals sent to the islands are healthy,\u201d Nurliati said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe distribution of sacrificial animals is being carried out using\ntraditional vessels KM Pesona Alam and KM Bima from Muara Angke Port,\u201d\nsaid Thousand Islands Regent Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan on Monday (25\nMay).<\/p>\n
Due to the Thousand Islands\u2019 geographical nature as a maritime\nregion, preparations for animal distribution began well in advance.<\/p>\n
From the mainland, animals are transported by ship to populated\nislands according to their destinations.<\/p>\n
