Thoughts on SLTP 56 land swap<\/p>\n

The land swap involving a state junior high school (SLTP 56)
\nhas led to a conflict between the Jakarta administration and
\nmembers of the school.<\/p>\n
It must be noted that a property swap involving a school is
\nnot as simple as selling a plot of land or a house. In the case
\nof a house or a piece of land, as long as the documents are in
\norder, the transaction will proceed smoothly. In the case of
\nschools, however, the swap involves students, teachers and
\nstudents' parents, so the transaction is not just a matter of
\nlegal niceties. Many things must be considered, for example, the
\nlocation of the new school.<\/p>\n
In the case of SLTP 56, would it not be better, in the
\ninterests of many people, if the deal was canceled? If it is not
\npossible to cancel the deal, then there must be no more such
\nswaps in the future. A school can be closed or sold only if it
\nhas a very small number of students.<\/p>\n
