Thief burned to death<\/p>\n
BOGOR (JP): An angry mob burned to death a man for stealing
\nelectronic goods from a neighbor in the village of Rawa Panjang,
\nBojong Gede, Bogor on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
An eyewitness said that a new neighbor, Mardi, reported that a
\nthief had broken into his house and made off with electronic
\ngoods early Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
Local residents assumed that Gunawan, known to be a member of
\na criminal gang, was behind the theft.<\/p>\n
The residents later noticed Gunawan, accompanied by two
\nfriends, carrying the stolen goods, consisting of one television
\nset, a tape recorder and a VCD player set.<\/p>\n
The three were about to get onto an angkot public
\ntransportation van near the Citayam railway station when the
\nresidents intercepted them, said Hasan, the eyewitness.<\/p>\n
"Gunawan admitted to having stolen the goods from Mardi's
\nhouse," Hasan said.<\/p>\n
The angry mob then dragged the three to a nearby soccer field,
\nHasan said. "Gunawan's two friends escaped."<\/p>\n
Police confirmed the killing. "The mob collected used tires
\nbefore pouring gasoline onto Gunawan's body. We received the
\nreport after the victim was killed," Bojong Gede Police chief
