Theo linked to money politics<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI
\nPerjuangan) plans to seek clarification from its deputy chairman
\nTheo Syafei over his links with alleged money politics in the
\nreelection of East Kalimantan Governor Suwarna Abdul Fatah.<\/p>\n
PDI Perjuangan deputy secretary-general Pramono Anung Wibowo
\nsaid after a weekly meeting at the party's head office here on
\nTuesday that the party was taking into account a move by a
\nlawyers' association to file report with the East Kalimantan
\nPolice against Theo.<\/p>\n
\"We need to resolve the issue as soon as possible so that it
\ndoes not damage the party's image,\" Pramono said.<\/p>\n
The lawyers association, which formerly affiliated itself with
\nthe party, accused Theo of demanding bribes from Suwarna in
\nexchange for the party's support for him at the expense of the
\nparty cadre Imam Mundjiat.<\/p>\n
Theo, who now leads PDI Perjuangan's team of success in next
\nyear's elections, has requested temporary suspension to support
\nthe ongoing legal process against him.<\/p>\n
Pramono said that the party would consult the party's
\nchairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri before responding Theo's
