Theft at Senggigi Hotel<\/p>\n
During the evening of Friday, Nov. 21, my friend and I checked
\nin at Bintang Senggigi Hotel, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The
\nhotel was nice and the receptionist was friendly.<\/p>\n
Since this was my first time to Lombok, I was very excited.
\nThe next day, Saturday, Nov. 22, we spent most of our time on the
\nbeach and in the swimming pool, and when it started getting dark,
\nwe went back to our room to get ready for dinner at Senggigi
\nSquare.<\/p>\n
Everything went well until the next day, Sunday, Nov.23. I
\nrealized that my Olympus MU300 digital camera, that I had placed
\non the TV table in the hotel room was missing. I reported it to
\nthe receptionist and they said they would look into the matter
\nimmediately. But we felt there was no progress, and we decided to
\nsee the manager. They suggested that we should report the loss to
\nthe police. I also found out that my lingerie and pearl bracelets
\nI had bought on the beach were missing.<\/p>\n
On Monday night, Nov. 24, the police came to investigate. The
\nmanager wondered why the mobile phone that was being charged on
\nthe floor in the corner of the room, or even the TV set, had not
\nbeen taken.<\/p>\n
This was, of course, a very unpleasant experience that should
\nnot happen in an international-standard hotel like Bintang
\nSenggigi, a great disadvantage to the image of Indonesian
\ntourism.<\/p>\n
