In reference to the article in The Jakarta Post on Jan. 2,
\n1996 that The Tavern, Aryaduta Hotel, was charging Rp 139,000 per
\nperson cover charge without permission, we would like to clarify
\nand correct the report.<\/p>\n

In fact, Aryaduta Hotel had obtained all licenses and permit
\npapers required for New Year Eve events. This was checked and
\napproved by Mr. Dadang Sedarlaksana, Mr. Mangasi Manurung, and
\nMr. Tedjo Wibowo who was assigned by Mr. Toha Argagunita of
\nDispenda on the night of Dec. 31, 1995. They issued a document of
\nthe total tax amount in triplicate which was to be paid to DKI
\none week after New Year Eve at the latest.<\/p>\n

Mr. Jatmiko, Assistant to Mr. Toha Reno of the City Public
\nOrder Office, on Jan. 4, 1996, clarified that Aryaduta Hotel had
\ncomplied with all laws and regulations. No fines will be issued
\nand the Tavern will not be closed.<\/p>\n

Therefore, it is not true that Aryaduta was charging anything
\nwithout permission as stated by Mr. Toha Reno of the City Public
\nOrder Office.<\/p>\n
