        "content": "<p>The Netherlands will make 200 million euros available for <br>\nreconstruction aid for the Tsunami victims. In the next five <br>\nyears Indonesia and Sri Lanka, both long-standing development <br>\npartners of the Netherlands, will receive extra support to deal <br>\nwith the long term reconstruction work in the stricken areas.<\/p>\n<p>The Dutch government will select projects and areas in close <br>\ncooperation with the Indonesian government, participating donors <br>\nand Aceh civil society organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Projects will focus on water, sanitation and education - all <br>\nareas in which the Netherlands has lengthy expertise. In <br>\naddition, the Netherlands will help fund tsunami early warning <br>\nsystems.<\/p>\n<p>To maximize transparency, accountability and efficiency, Dutch <br>\ndevelopment minister Agnes Van Ardenne has chosen to pledge 60 <br>\nmillion dollars for 2005 in grant resources to a major new donor <br>\ntrust fund that was launched earlier this week in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>This multi-donor trust fund pools aid resources in support of <br>\nthe Government's rehabilitation and reconstruction program for <br>\nAceh and North Sumatra. It was created to accelerate <br>\nimplementation of the recovery blueprint by providing effective <br>\nand sustainable coordinated grant financing which will not add to <br>\nthe administrative burden of the Indonesian government.<\/p>\n<p>However, monitoring rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts <br>\nwith an estimated total cost of 4.5 billion dollars will indeed <br>\nmake great demands on the audit systems. Therefore, the <br>\nNetherlands, together with the Asian Development Bank, has <br>\ndecided to further bolster the Indonesian auditor's office, BPK.<\/p>\n<p>By working in close cooperation with the Indonesian <br>\ngovernment, local authorities, and with other donors, and by <br>\nhelping the Indonesian government to monitor the reconstruction <br>\nprocess properly, the Netherlands is showing its firm commitment <br>\nto the people of Indonesia and its willingness to help them <br>\novercome this terrible tragedy.<\/p>",
