Indonesia\u2019s fifth president and PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) chairwoman\nMegawati Soekarnoputri performed the umrah pilgrimage with her family.\nFrom the hotel lobby, accompanied by her son and PDIP Central Board\nChairman M. Prananda Prabowo and his wife Nancy Prananda, as well as her\ndaughter and House of Representatives Speaker Puan Maharani, they\nboarded a vehicle to assume the state of ihram at Tan\u2019im Mosque, also\nknown as Aisyah Mosque, located approximately 7 km from the Grand Mosque\n(Masjidil Haram), on Saturday, 14 February 2026.<\/p>\n
PDIP Central Board Chairman for Foreign Affairs Ahmad Basarah and\nIndonesia\u2019s Ambassador to Tunisia Zuhairi Misrawi, who also serves as\nPDIP Central Board Chairman for Religious Affairs (non-active), were\nalso part of the umrah entourage.<\/p>\n
After assuming ihram, the entourage proceeded to the Royal Guest\nHouse as the entrance into the Grand Mosque to perform the Asr prayer\nbefore carrying out the umrah rituals.<\/p>\n
Regarding the pilgrimage, Zuhairi Misrawi said that Megawati\u2019s umrah\nwith her family this year coincides with the period just ahead of the\nRamadan fasting month, which will begin in three days.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor that reason, this umrah is very meaningful and holds great\nsignificance in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan,\u201d said Zuhairi.<\/p>\n
