The Mega-bintang signs at recent United Development Party
\n(PPP) campaigns indicates that supporters of the ousted leader of
\nthe Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI) Megawati Soekarnoputri have
\nchanneled their aspirations in the democratic feast and funneled
\ntheir votes to the party of the star. This has propelled a strong
\nreaction among several parties.<\/p>\n
It is a foregone conclusion that Megawati supporters will not
\nvote for Soerjadi who they blame for Megawati's \"ousting\" and a
\ncatastrophe for the party.<\/p>\n
As for PPP, the Mega-bintang issue is more like a windfall
\nwhich has enlivened every campaign. On the other hand, the
\nphenomenon also poses a threat to certain parties, which could
\neasily grow into Mega-bahaya (Mega-danger).<\/p>\n
The present Megawati trend could cast a cloud over the
\nSoerjadi camp, particularly in unsafe regions.<\/p>\n
