        "content": "<p>The irony of <br>\ntax reporting<\/p>\n<p>Amid the intense government campaign through its taxation <br>\ninstitution to encourage all citizens to possess taxpayer code <br>\nnumbers (NPWP) and submit their annual tax returns (SPT), still <br>\nthere is a foreign investment company, PT OPC (NPWP: 1-081-598-3-<br>\n407), which refuses to give up my income tax withholding <br>\ncertificate (form 1721-A1\/2001) in spite of two written requests <br>\nto the firm for this purpose.<\/p>\n<p>As a consequence, I have had to hand in a request for the <br>\npostponement of my submission of SPT-2001 (form 1770), to the Tax <br>\nService of Jatinegara, Jakarta, and at the same time another <br>\nletter for the assistance of the Director of Tax Audit and <br>\nInvestigation in securing the said tax withholding evidence.<\/p>\n<p>This reality is indeed ironical and constitutes a challenge to <br>\nthe personnel of the Directorate General of Taxation to take <br>\nfurther action in connection with the difficulty caused by the <br>\nfirm to its employee already having a personal NPWP.<\/p>\n<p>TIRTA P.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta<\/p>",
