        "content": "<p>The Indonesian military (TNI) said Friday it had killed three <br>\nrebels in war-torn Aceh province, where troops have been battling <br>\nseparatist guerrillas for nine months.<\/p>\n<p>The three Free Aceh Movement (GAM) rebels were shot dead <br>\nduring a clash with 12 soldiers in South Aceh district on <br>\nThursday, said Captain Candra Purnama, a local military <br>\nspokesman.<\/p>\n<p>Troops seized an automatic rifle from the three, all in their <br>\n20s, Purnama said, adding that soldiers were still chasing seven <br>\nother rebels who fled after the raid.<\/p>\n<p>No GAM officials could be immediately reached for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The report followed an announcement by another military <br>\nspokesman Thursday that the Indonesian military had stopped <br>\npublishing figures for killed rebels.<\/p>\n<p>Rights groups have questioned whether all those in the <br>\ncasualty count were actually rebels, partly because the number of <br>\nweapons the military seized from the dead was less than half the <br>\nnumber of casualties. -- AFP.<\/p>",
