        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya\nhas emphasised the importance of establishing a safe, drug-free creative\nindustry ecosystem for the younger generation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProviding a positive and productive outlet for expression is\nessential for young people so that they stay away from the dangers of\nnarcotics abuse,\u201d Riefky said in an official statement confirmed in\nJakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>At the commemoration of International Anti-Narcotics Day (HANI) 2026\nin Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday (22 July), Riefky highlighted that\ndeveloping the creative ecosystem has become crucial, given that the\ncreative economy now serves as a new engine of national economic growth\nthat effectively safeguards and channels the potential of the younger\ngeneration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe creative economy offers young people a path to prove themselves\nand achieve success through talent and real works. With a healthy\nclimate for creative work, we keep them away from the trap of\nnarcotics,\u201d Riefky said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that his presence was a follow-up to a meeting with the\nNational Narcotics Agency (BNN) on 9 June 2026 aimed at expanding\neducation and narcotics risk mitigation, while reaffirming the creative\neconomy sector\u2019s commitment to protecting the younger generation.<\/p>\n<p>Engaging the younger generation is considered key because Gen Z and\nMillennials dominate 63 per cent of the creative sector\u2019s workforce.\nThrough productive creative spaces, the creative economy is expected to\nshield them from narcotics abuse.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs\nDjamari Chaniago stressed that narcotics eradication is a national\nstrategic commitment to realising the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.<\/p>\n<p>The government will continue to protect the younger generation from\nthe threat of substance abuse, including by strengthening the BNN\u2019s\nrole, improving prevention and early detection, and fostering\ncollaboration across ministries to address evolving narcotics crime\nmethods and the emergence of new psychoactive substances (NPS).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI repeat, narcotics eradication is an absolute requirement to\nachieve Golden Indonesia by 2045 \u2014 a firm form of national political and\nstrategic commitment,\u201d Djamari said.<\/p>\n<p>BNN chief Commissioner Suyudi Ario Seto likewise stated that efforts\nto prevent and eradicate narcotics go beyond law enforcement,\nencompassing cooperation to build the younger generation\u2019s resilience so\nthey avoid the trap of drugs from an early age.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough cross-sector collaboration, we can sever the roots of\nsocio-economic problems while providing productive and meaningful life\nchoices for the future of our nation\u2019s children,\u201d Suyudi added.<\/p>",
