        "content": "<p>As the final messenger, the Prophet possessed qualities that his\nfollowers should emulate. Among his many virtues were generosity and\nkindness.<\/p>\n<p>It is narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah that the Prophet was never\nasked for something by anyone and replied no (HR Muslim).<\/p>\n<p>Ibnul Jauzi stated in Al-Wafa, The Perfection of the Prophet\nMuhammad\u2019s Character, that several examples of the Prophet\u2019s generosity\nand kindness are recorded in a number of hadiths. First, from Ibn Abbas,\nwho said, \u2018The Messenger of Allah was the most generous of people. His\ngenerosity was especially evident during the month of Ramadan, when he\nmet the angel Gabriel. Every night during Ramadan, he met the angel\nGabriel to recite the Quran before him. Truly, the kindness of the\nMessenger of Allah was more pleasant to experience than a gentle\nbreeze,\u2019 (HR Bukhari, Muslim, Ahmad).<\/p>\n<p>In another narration by Muslim, Anas recounted, \u2018The Messenger of\nAllah was never asked for something for the sake of Islam except that he\ngave it. On one occasion, a man came begging to the Prophet. He\ninstructed his companions to give the man a large amount of wealth from\nthe zakat fund. Carrying that wealth, the man then returned to his\npeople. He said, O my people, embrace Islam! Muhammad has given abundant\nwealth, a gift given by one who does not fear poverty.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Jubair bin Muth\u2019im recounted that when the Messenger of Allah was\nreturning with his soldiers from the Battle of Hunain, they were wearing\nhead coverings. Suddenly, Bedouin Arabs crowded around him asking for\nthings until he was pulled aside towards a Samurah tree. The tree\nimmediately snatched his shawl.<\/p>\n<p>Seeing this, the Messenger of Allah stopped for a moment and said,\n\u2018Return my shawl! Do you fear that I would be miserly towards you? If I\npossessed abundant gold and jewels, I would certainly distribute them to\nyou, for I am not miserly, a liar, or a coward,\u2019 (HR Bukhari and\nAhmad).<\/p>",
