POLICE have named celebrity Ruben Samuel Onsu (RSO) a suspect in a\ncase of alleged fraud and embezzlement of investment funds. The legal\nmatter is being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South\nJakarta Metropolitan Police following an official report from the\nvictim.<\/p>\n
The alleged criminal report is recorded in Police Report Number\n310\/VIII\/2025\/SPKT\/South Jakarta Police dated 22 August 2025. The case\ninvolves a complainant with the initials P and a victim with the\ninitials DM.<\/p>\n
The case began with a business partnership offer made by the reported\nparty to the victim in 2025. The offer included an agreement on\nprofit-sharing from the invested funds.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe chronology is that the reported party (Ruben Onsu) has a\nbusiness, then offered the victim the opportunity to invest funds. The\nvictim was then interested in carrying out the agreement between the\nvictim and the reported party,\u201d said South Jakarta Metropolitan Police\nPublic Relations Head AKP Joko Adi Wibowo at the South Jakarta\nMetropolitan Police headquarters on Thursday.<\/p>\n
However, as time went on, the obligation to share profits and return\nthe principal funds was never fulfilled by the agreed deadline.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the agreed time arrived, the profit had not been received and\nthe capital had also not been returned. That is why the victim reported\nthis incident to the South Jakarta Police,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Regarding the total amount of losses suffered by the victim, the\npolice have not yet detailed the exact figure as the matter is still in\nthe evidence-gathering stage.<\/p>\n
The handling of this case underwent a change in legal status after\ngoing through a series of police procedures. On 25 April 2026, the South\nJakarta Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation Unit officially\nupgraded the case status from preliminary inquiry to investigation.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the investigation stage, investigators have examined more than\nsix witnesses, including expert witnesses,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
After gathering sufficient evidence and announcing the suspect\nstatus, the police have scheduled an examination of Ruben Onsu in his\nnew capacity.<\/p>\n
\u201cYesterday we just named him a suspect, so of course we will schedule\na summons for him,\u201d said South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public\nRelations Head AKP Joko Adi Wibowo at the South Jakarta Metropolitan\nPolice headquarters on Thursday.<\/p>\n
