Now that the government is trying to eliminate excessive
\nbureaucracy so that the business sector can function effectively,

\npermits, vehicle documents, land titles, marriage certificates
\nfrom religious offices in the regions, and personal
\nidentification cards. In this relation, many unnecessary
\nrequirements can be eliminated, or stricter rules imposed.<\/p>\n
One thing which may contribute to efficiency is to set a
\ndeadline for every procedure so the applicants know when their
\ndocuments should be ready. Unnecessary requirements should be
\neliminated so as not to obstruct or delay a procedure.<\/p>\n
To get a document certifying that one resides in a certain
\narea in Jakarta like Menteng or Kuningan costs Rp 150,000, and in
\nother areas a resident's identity card costs Rp 25,000. So can
\none imagine how expensive it is to get these things done!<\/p>\n
With these things in mind it is hoped the government will take
\nthe necessary measures to improve applying for and obtaining all
\nsorts of permits to ensure that high costs are abolished.<\/p>\n
