Lawyer Razman Arif Nasution has been executed to Class I Cipinang\nPrison following the Supreme Court\u2019s rejection of his cassation appeal\nin a defamation case against fellow lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea. The\nSupreme Court sentenced Razman to 1.5 years in prison. The cassation was\nadjudicated by a panel of judges chaired by Supreme Justice Yohanes\nPriyana, with members Noor Edi Yono and Sutarjo. The ruling, numbered\n5227 K\/PID.SUS\/2026, stated, \u201cReject the cassation of the Public\nProsecutor and reject the cassation of the Defendant.\u201d<\/p>\n
The case was initially tried at the North Jakarta District Court. The defamation case against Hotman Paris occurred in 2022.\nProsecutors charged Razman with defaming Hotman together with Putri\nIqlima Aprilia. Iqlima was also a defendant in the case and was\nsentenced to 6 months in prison and a fine of Rp 100 million. Razman was\nsentenced to 1.5 years in prison and a fine of Rp 200 million. Head of Cipinang Prison, Syarpani, confirmed that Razman was\ntransferred to the facility on Thursday, 25 June 2026, based on a letter\nfrom the North Jakarta District Attorney\u2019s Office. The timeline of the\ncase began in April 2022 when Razman reported Hotman to the police over\nalleged indecent posts. Hotman retaliated, telling Razman not to be\nenvious. Later that month, Razman accused Hotman of harassing his former\npersonal assistant, Putri Iqlima Aprilia, which Hotman denied. In May\n2022, Hotman reported Razman and Iqlima to the Criminal Investigation\nDepartment for defamation. By July 2022, Iqlima reversed her stance,\nclaiming she was a victim of advocate malpractice and stating no\nharassment occurred. Razman was questioned by police in August 2022. The\ntrial officially began in December 2024, with both Razman and Iqlima\ncharged with defamation.
