The Bank Bali soap opera<\/p>\n
Like it or not, the Bank Bali scandal has turned into a soap
\nopera, with the players in the scandal being slippery as soap.
\nEach new revelation is immediately overtaken by another one. New
\nepisodes follow one after the other without end.<\/p>\n
Now that the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) audit has been made
\npublic -- after months were wasted debating the question of
\nwhether it was proper to release the report -- a new problem has
\narisen: people are questioning the authenticity of the recently
\nreleased report.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, one page (pg. 54) is reported to be missing.
\nCould it be that PwC submitted the wrong report to the
\ngovernment? And that's not the end of it. Two current Cabinet
\nministers are said to have received some of the money related to
\nthe scandal. Oddly, their names are not included in the report.<\/p>\n
Whatever the problems, we have only one hope: that enough has
\nbeen said about the PwC report. Stop this unproductive exchange
\nand get to the heart of the issue by investigating those people
\nwho are mentioned in the audit. Stop playing with words and start
\nworking.<\/p>\n
