        "content": "<p>Thailand closes border post<\/p>\n<p>BANGKOK (AFP): Thailand has shut a border post with Cambodia<br>\nafter fresh fighting broke out between rival factions on the<br>\nCambodian side, the Thai military said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The border post at An Mah, usually open three times a week,<br>\nremained shut yesterday after reported clashes between troops<br>\nloyal to Phnom Penh strongman Hun Sen and Khmer Rouge guerrillas,<br>\na senior Thai officer said.<\/p>\n<p>Sources said Khmer Rouge rebels and troops loyal to ousted<br>\nCambodian copremier Prince Norodom Ranariddh began shelling a<br>\nmilitary base under the control of Second Premier Hun Sen near An<br>\nMah early Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Refugees streamed into Thailand's Surin province as royalist<br>\nforces clung to their last bastion in northwest Cambodia amid<br>\nheavy fighting. The officer said some 250 refugees would be sent<br>\nback to the Cambodian town of Poipet on Oct. 10 and other groups<br>\nwould follow.<\/p>",
