        "content": "<p>Thai PM resumes ASEAN visits<\/p>\n<p>BANGKOK (AFP): Prime Minister Banharn Silpa-archa will resume<br>\nfamiliarization visits to Thailand's ASEAN partners with a trip<br>\nto Brunei and Indonesia next week, a government spokesman said<br>\nyesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The traditional visits are designed to strengthen ties in the<br>\nAssociation of Southeast Asian Nations, grouping Brunei,<br>\nIndonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and<br>\nVietnam.<\/p>\n<p>Banharn, who took office last July, went to Vietnam and the<br>\nPhilippines in November and has yet to pay official visits to<br>\nMalaysia and Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>During a one-day official visit to Brunei on Tuesday, he will<br>\nhave an audience with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and visit a gas<br>\ndrilling platform. The premier will also meet with Thai workers<br>\nin Brunei.<\/p>\n<p>Banharn will begin a visit to Indonesia on Wednesday. He is to<br>\nmeet President Soeharto in Jakarta and to tour the Borobudur<br>\ntemple in Yogyakarta on Thursday before returning to Bangkok.<\/p>",
