        "content": "<p>Thai journalists halt ties with CAJ<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (AP): The Confederation of Thai Journalists has<br>\nsuspended its relations and activities with the confederation<br>\nrepresenting Southeast Asian journalists after 25 years of<br>\ncooperation, an official said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Ivan Lim, president of the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists<br>\n(CAJ), said in a statement that the group regretted \"the<br>\nunprecedented action\" by the Thais.<\/p>\n<p>The seven-member Thai delegation walked out of the ASEAN<br>\ngroup's general assembly in Singapore on Monday to \"protest<br>\nagainst the lack of transparency and accountability\" among the<br>\nexecutive members of the group.<\/p>\n<p>Kavi Chongkittavorn, president of the Thai group, said in a<br>\nstatement that procedures were not followed and requests to amend<br>\nthe group's agenda were repeatedly denied.<\/p>\n<p>CAJ was established in 1975 to forge ties among journalists<br>\nfrom members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.<\/p>",
