        "content": "<p>Thai Airways adds flights to Indonesia<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Thai Airways International, one of the world's<br>\nleading airlines, has expanded its service in Indonesia to<br>\nSurabaya, East Java.<\/p>\n<p>A company representative in Jakarta, Irfan Rahadian, said here<br>\nyesterday that the new flights linking Surabaya and Bangkok via<br>\nDenpasar, Bali, began last Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the airline flew the new route three times a week (on<br>\nWednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) in addition to the existing<br>\ndirect Bangkok-Denpasar route on Saturdays.<\/p>\n<p>\"Thai Airways considers Surabaya, Indonesia's second largest<br>\ncity, a potentially popular destination. There are many Thai<br>\npeople wanting to visit tourist destinations in East Java,\" Irfan<br>\nsaid, adding that Thai Airways did not have a target in load<br>\nfactor rates for the new route.<\/p>\n<p>The Thai Airways Airbus A-300-600 aircraft also link Jakarta<br>\nand Bangkok 12 times a week.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, chief of the Tourism, Post and Telecommunications<br>\noffice in Surabaya, Rio Judojanto, said here yesterday that Thai<br>\nAirways was the ninth foreign airline serving Surabaya.<\/p>\n<p>\"But of the nine overseas airlines, two will soon stop their<br>\nservices, they are the National Jet System of Australia and KLM<br>\nof the Netherlands,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Other foreign airlines serving Surabaya are Singapore<br>\nAirlines, Malaysia Airlines, China Southern and Cathay Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>Foreign tourist arrivals in Surabaya have increased steadily<br>\nin recent years to a record of more than 629,000 last year.
