Jakarta \u2014 PT Terra Drone Indonesia\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, Michael\nWisnu Wardhana, said that the fire at their office, which killed 22\nemployees on 9 December 2025, was a misfortune outside his control.<\/p>\n
Michael emphasised that he never intended to neglect the safety of PT\nTerra Drone Indonesia\u2019s workers. \u201cMoreover, I did not want such an\nunfortunate event to occur. This fire disaster happened not by my will,\u201d\nhe told the court in a plea reading at the Central Jakarta District\nCourt (PN Jakarta Pusat) on Tuesday, 18 May 2026.<\/p>\n
Conversely, he said, the drone services company he leads is currently\nincurring losses and reputational damage. He also stressed that the\noffice fire at PT Terra Drone Indonesia caused him to lose\ncolleagues.<\/p>\n
In his defence submission, Michael Wisnu also stated that he has run\nthe company in accordance with standard operating procedures together\nwith other board members. He claimed that he has never neglected\nworkplace safety and has sought to exercise caution in running the\nbusiness.<\/p>\n
\u201cI do not have a motive to commit illegal acts. Instead, the\ncircumstances beyond my control, including environmental technical\nfactors and information limitations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
At the time of the fire, he was at his home. He received the news\nwhile still at home. Michael said that after receiving the information,\nhe rushed to the scene to ascertain the condition of all employees and\nto ensure swift handling.<\/p>\n
\u201cUpon arriving at the scene, I was very shocked and cried when I saw\nthe office burning.
