        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 The legal team representing Michael Wisnu Wardhana Siagian,\nChief Executive Officer of PT Terra Drone Indonesia, Stella M Masangi,\nsaid that the 1 year and 4 months prison sentence for their client felt\nquite burdensome.<\/p>\n<p>The defence argued that Michael was not entirely negligent with\nregard to the fire at Terra Drone Indonesia\u2019s office which killed 22\nemployees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor us, it feels quite (burdensome),\u201d Stella told the Central\nJakarta District Court on Thursday, 21 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Stella said the panel of judges had its own legal considerations and\nthat they respected them.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the defence accepted the 1 year and 4 months sentence\npronounced by the panel on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>This includes consideration of whether to appeal or not against the\ndecision of PN Jakarta Pusat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will discuss with Mr.\u00a0Michael first, then we will know what the\nnext plan will be,\u201d Stella added.<\/p>\n<p>The verdict was read in the hearing at PN Jakarta Pusat, Kemayoran,\non Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccording to the panel of judges, the defendant Michael Wisnu\nWardhana Siagian is found to have acted unlawfully and negligently\ncausing the death of others,\u201d said the Chairman of the Panel, Purwanto S\nAbdullah, in the court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThus the defendant is sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 1 year\nand 4 months,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the panel ordered Michael Wisnu to remain in\ncustody.<\/p>\n<p>As information, this final verdict against Michael is lighter than\nthe two-year prison sentence demanded by the prosecutors earlier.<\/p>\n<p>According to the panel\u2019s statements, Michael Wisnu has been detained\nat the Metro Jakarta Pusat Police since 12 December 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The detention period will expire on 2 June 2026.<\/p>",
