        "content": "<p>Terorist suspects reject arms possession charges<\/p>\n<p>Fidelito Ahmad, The Jakarta Post, Lamongan, East Java<\/p>\n<p>Four of five defendants who stood trial at the district court in<br>\nLamongan, East Java, rejected the government prosecutor&apos;s charges<br>\nthat they have violated Law No. 12\/1951 on the illegal possession<br>\nof arms and explosives and the anti-terror government regulation<br>\nin lieu of law No. 1\/2002 on terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers who accompanied Sumarno, the nephew of Bali blast<br>\ndefendant Amrozi, Qomar bin Thalib, Nurminda bin Thalib and<br>\nNurfitrotullah, told the court that it was not clear what role<br>\ntheir clients played in the findings of the arms and ammunitions.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The police and prosecutors should file evidence on who really<br>\nown the arms and ammunitions. If necessary, brothers Amrozi and<br>\nAli Imron should be brought here to give their testimony on the<br>\nillegal arms,&quot; Fachmi Bachmid, one of the Muslim Lawyers Team,<br>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the prosecutor should mention his clients&apos;<br>\nrole they played in the case and seek evidence that they<br>\nallegedly hide the arms, explosives ammunitions.<\/p>\n<p>In the previous separate court sessions last Monday,<br>\nprosecutors charged the five defendants of transporting arms and<br>\nexplosives, possessing them illegally and hiding them.<\/p>\n<p>The trial session which was presided over by judge Mariani was<br>\nadjourned until May 26, to hear the prosecutors&apos; response to the<br>\ndefendant&apos;s objection to the charges.<\/p>",
